HALF A WHOLE
She did the unthinkable. And now she has to face him, every day, knowing that he knows. That's never going to stop haunting her, even though things are better, now, that they've talked. Even knowing it was as much manipulation as her own decisions. Still, things are better. Despite everything, they love each other more than anything and she wants nothing more than to do better, to never hurt him again if she can help it. It's the two of them against the world and it's nice, actually, being halves of a whole when it's something she gets to choose. She missed being this close to him. She missed him. And she will do whatever it takes not to lose him all over again.
Number one
She always kinda hated Carolina. Not completely—she did have a fun side, if you could squeeze it out of her, and she wasn't a bad leader despite the blatant favouritism in the early days. But, back then it felt like Carolina was just another of those people who got it all while she had to claw tooth and nail for an ounce of the same respect. Turns out it wasn't that simple, that her own fuckass father was using her like another chess piece, and you know what? Fuck him. She's not letting the Director decide how she feels about people, anymore. Especially not about one of the best damn friends she's ever had, somehow. The shit she's done for her... South doesn't know how to even begin showing how grateful she is.
ALMOST
They were friends. Or, South sure thought they were friends. (Maybe they even came close to being something else, once upon a time.) Connie was the only person in the squad who seemed to like her better than she liked North and it was nice having that, for once in her life. Until she went and stabbed them all in the back rather than fucking tell them anything. Now, South doesn't know what to believe, and trying to talk to her hasn't helped in the slightest. Really, she just feels worse, freshly embarrassed and like she never mattered at all. Especially now she knows CT thought she was a threat.
Lightbulb
She hates herself for hating him, but she does. Now he's here, like this, she can't just write him off as nothing but a machine anymore, and it makes her feel sick to think of what she did, but three years of building resentment and the unshakeable feeling of being pushed out of her own family isn't something she can switch off just like that. She doesn't want to feel this way. She doesn't want to turn into one of those adults who made her feel like shit as a kid. But god, it's hard to look at him.
Princess
How did she win over a girl like this? Haley looks and sometimes acts like the kind of girl who would've shit-talked her behind her back (and probably to her face, honestly) in school, and instead she's so goddamn nice to her. She talks to her like she's worth talking to, she's supported her far more than she'd ever dare to ask for, and she's apparently been patient with her through months of her being an idiot. Her attitude is as much a face as South's is, a game that's fun to fire back and forth at each other, and South loves that. Fuck, she doesn't understand how this happened but she's so fucking happy it did.
Boss Monkey
Capo's pretty cool. He's got that gruff old uncle energy to him and sounds kind of like an old mobster movie, plus he's always got cigs to bum which gives him a boost (that's a joke—mostly). Hard to really picture him as the troubled teen he said he was, sometimes, when this whole Bizzies business makes it seem like he's gone and made something of himself—something she sure can't say for herself. But he and his partner are giving her a fair shot and that's more than she ever really expects, these days, so she's grateful for that.
Replacement
South doesn't actually know who she is, not really. All she knows is that she's the one CT has her hands all over, now. The one that Connie actually cares about. She's not proud of the way she feels about this, not proud of the way she picked a fight she had no real win state in mind for, not proud of any of it. But she is so embarrassingly jealous of this stranger that it makes her feel sick, and she doesn't know how to turn it off.
Wannabe Innie
This fucking guy. Spends a whole fucking argument with her pretending he's one of CT's little Insurrectionist friends, then it turns out the assholes weren't even real Insurrectionists in the first place and the guy's from a whole other universe? Still defending CT, though, so at least that's fucking consistent. She hates the guy on principle.
Magic girl
Her name is fucking weird, but Fever seems pretty cool. Anyone who buys her a drink is alright in South's book (unless, y'know, they're being weird, whatever) and she's not hard to talk to, really. There's some vibe about her that South can't fully put her finger on, but it's no weirder than any vibe you get off other assholes back in the forces, really, so she's not going to go poking at whatever the story there is without reason.
Eye Weirdo
Gerry's a pain in the goddamn ass, but he's... alright, actually. Lina definitely upgraded from her last boyfriend, that's for sure. South really doesn't know what his actual deal is besides 'freaky eye powers' and 'guy who does his girlfriend's kitchen chores because she hates them so much', which makes her squirm just a bit considering he must know something of what had her on Lina's couch for a month, but she's also not eager to ask, soooo...
Stuck up cop
Who the fuck does she think she is, talking to her like she knows a damn fucking thing about her? Telling her how she should be acting, telling her what to do—fuck that, fuck her, and fuck CT for painting her as a threat to this woman. She doesn't have to put up with this.
