South is a big woman, standing at 6'6" and being built rather like a brick wall of functional muscle. She holds herself like a fighter and isn't ashamed of her size at all, refusing to take up less space than she deserves. Stands around with her arms crossed or hands on her hips a lot.
She's white and extremely pale, with icy blue eyes and light blonde hair that she dyes the tips of purple. She has several tattoos: on her left arm, purple roses threaded onto barbed wire wrapped around her bicep; up her ribcage on the same side, a purple-and-blue galaxy that stretches from her armpit down to her thigh; around her torso, a linework snake with its head rested on her sternum between her breasts; and at the base of her spine, an ODST drop pod designed to look like it's falling. There's a scar on her left cheek, and other assorted scars all across her body, including one on the inner edge of her left knee from a bullet graze.
She's butch and dresses as such. You'll never see her in a skirt or a dress and she vastly prefers casual masculine cuts in general.

Their home life wasn't easy, with parents that weren't really fit to be parents and who were largely neglectful of the twins needs even outside of the family hovering below the poverty line. When they bothered to try and parent at all, they always favoured Dmitri as the golden child and treated Natasha as the scapegoat, the disappointment. They wore the same clothes, were made to do a lot of the same activities, and were generally treated as a unit. Over the years, this started to grate on Natasha, even as she found comfort in the stability of her brother's presence.
She was always the rebellious one, while Dmitri tried to keep her from getting into too much trouble with either their parents, teachers, or all on her own. Eventually, as they reached adulthood, they enlisted in the Marines—it was easy money and it got them away from home, from their parents, and with the war on it seemed like the best option they had. They excelled as a combat partnership and made the climb to the ODSTs, where they served until their recruitment by Project Freelancer.
Freelancer noticed them after they returned from a drop gone wrong, the only survivors of their entire ODST fireteam. When interrogated by military officials, their stories aligned too perfectly, and they were close to being court martialled until Freelancer snapped them up for their special program. Assigned North and South Dakota, they continued to excel as a partnership until the Project started to deliberately drive a wedge between them.
By the time the program collapsed in a mess of secrets, an experiment designed to deny South an AI and give her generally disparate treatment to North, who was assigned an AI, had all but ruined their relationship. After a fight that could easily have killed one of them, had it gone wrong, North carried South off the ship and they went on the run for two years before things finally came to a head. South (then secretly working for Command, but still refusing to turn North in) deliberately allowed the Meta (a rogue Freelancer, killing other agents for their AI) to catch up to them and take Theta, but failed to step in and save North before he was killed.
Since then, South has been struggling, and ultimately died at the hands of another agent she betrayed in the aftermath.
